Blas na hEireann Awards 2011 are now taking Enteries from Food & Drink Producers
The annual Blas na hEireann National Irish Food Awards celebrate and reward the very best of Irish produce, and the passionate, driven individuals behind it.
With Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in more than 30 product categories, this years awards will also include ‘Best Irish Artisan Company’ Award amongst others. Held as part of the annual Dingle Peninsula Food & Wine Festival, the winners of the 2011 competition will be announced over the first weekend in October( which runs from 30th September to October 2nd).
All Irish companies, North and South, are invited to submit food products that are commercially available to the public in three outlets.
Awards:
In addition to Gold, Bronze and Silver Medals in each of the following categories, there will be Awards for overall ‘Supreme Champion’, ‘Best Runner Up’ and ‘Best Producer in a Gaeltacht Area’. This year we will be Awarding a ‘Best Artisan Producer’* to one outstanding fine producer .*Artisan producer – is a producer who hand makes in relatively small quantities / batches, not mass produced. Produced using local materials / resources / craft.
