Financial Support Criteria

Is your business eligible for financial support?

West Cork Enterprise Board provides a range of financial supports to qualifying small businesses based in West Cork employing less than 10 employees. Enterprise projects eligible for support are :

• Businesses engaged in manufacturing (inlcuding food, engineering, craft)
• Internationally traded services (details of overseas customers must be provided)
• Innovative projects with export potential (this must be outlined in the application)

Companies seeking financial support must:

• be located in the West Cork Enterprise Board catchment area or usually in the environs of Innishannon West, Ballinadee, Bandon, Kilbrittain, Clonakilty, Timoleague, Courtmacsherry, Ballineen, Rosscarbery, Skibbereen, Dunmanway, Drinagh, Union Hall, Glandore, Leap, Drimoleague, Bantry, Durrus, Schull, Beara, Ballydehob, Castletownshend, Glengarriff, Castletownbere, Tarelton South and Enniskeane or areas in between. However, if the border for some areas is unclear as to whether you are in West Cork or South Cork, please contact the office.   Those situated in a Gaeltacht area must contact Udaras na Gaeltachta
• have less than 10 employees inlcuding the promoter(s)

They must also:

• be in the commercial sphere, that is profit oriented businesses
• be capable of attaining economic viability
• demonstrate a commercial market for their proposed product or service
• have adequate overall finance available to the project (detail in your application how you will fund the business)
• have the necessary management and technical skills
• have capacity for growth and new job creation
• have potential for export, please outline in your application
• full time commercial businesses
• NOT be an existing Enterprise Ireland clients and not receiving Enterprise Ireland funding
• The Board must also adhere to the De Minimis ruling on EU Aid whereby no SME due to competition rules, may receive more than €200,000 in any three year period.
