The West Cork Enterprise Board in Partnership with Cork County Council will hold a seminar on Public Procurement in the Lodge & Spa Hotel, Inchydoney, Co Cork on Tuesday 29th November 2011 at 6.00pm.
This business / networking event will explain to potential contractors and business people how to tap into the massive national and local e-tendering market available from both Cork County Council and other Local Authorities. This Seminar will help educate people how to successfully tender, understand the needs of Cork County Council, address the issues around tendering and also focus on assisting those who may have been slow to tender up to now, because they were unfamiliar with the ‘how to’.
Mr. MacDara O’Hici, Head of Procurement at Cork County Council will be speaking about their purchasing requirements, needs and successful tendering. All public, semi-state and local authority procurements are now done through the e-tendering process, including Cork County Council and the Seminar will explain this in more detail. In addition Ger Power, Head of Finance at Cork County Council and Michael Hanley, CEO, West Cork Enterprise Board will also speak.
According to Michael Hanley, CEO of West Cork Enterprise Board, ‘Cork County Council is one of the largest buyers of goods and services in the region. That means that there are numerous opportunities for local companies to be involved in supplying the Council. We are anxious that companies are aware of what the Council are seeking and how the process of tendering for this business works. In the current economic climate, this is an opportunity should not be missed, in getting first hand information from those directly involved in procurement’
There will be a questions and answers session, so that any individual queries can be fully explained to potential contractors and suppliers.
The seminar runs from 6pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday 29th November 2011.
