CorkMeet 2009, Cork: 11-13th November 2009

CORKMEET 2009 was a three-day international business networking forum which took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cork, from 11-13 November 2009. The 3-day programme was arranged to heighten networking opportunities for attendees in a variety of formats. Up to 350 Irish and International delegates participated during the event making it a huge success. CORKMEET 2009 was funded and organised by Trading Link Cork, a partnership for business between Cork County Council, Cork County & City Enterprise Boards and Cork Chamber. Futurallia - Quebec, Canada: 20th-22nd May 2008

Futurallia is an International Business Forum attended by SMEs and regional business associations from around the world. The West Cork Enterprise Board, along with lead partner Cork County Council, Cork Chamber and the Enterprise Boards of Cork City and South Cork collaborated in bringing ten Cork based companies to the Futurallia event. The Cork delegation was led by the Mayor of County Cork, Thomas Sheehan who was greeted at the Forum by the Premier of Quebec, Mr. Jean Charest. Among the Cork companies in attendance were: Alternative Cater Hire, Baltimore Developments, Bard na nGleann, Clinical Conduct Associates Ltd, Dan Joe Fitzgerald Furniture, Eclipse Foods, Ecocel, Job Options Bureau and Radon Ireland.

A record number of 9,000 business meetings in less than 48 hours took place as this non-stop "speed dating" created significant opportunities for business people from around the world. An International Village at the event offered delegations the opportunity to showcase their home region. The Cork delegation invited International friends and Futurallia delegates to "Come to Cork", a place to do business and a place to visit.

This is the fourth time that a delegation from County Cork has participated in the Futurallia event and the feedback from Cork companies has been excellent. Futurallia 2009 will take place in Quatar.

Past Trading Link Cork Events

Wroclaw, Poland: 20th-23rd November 2007

In November owner/managers of three West Cork companies joined other Cork companies and travelled to Wroclaw, Poland from November 20th to 23rd, to investigate the Polish market and its opportunities.  This mission included companies from engineering, manufacturing, technology and construction interests. The Wroclaw Mission offered those travelling pre-arranged matched meetings with Polish enterprises on Wednesday, November 21st, and the opportunity to attend a manufacturing/engineering Trade Show, PROTECH, www.targi-protech.pl/en on Thursday, November 22nd.

Futurallia - Poitiers, France: 6th-8th June 2007

The partnership attended the 12th International Business Development Forum in Poitiers-Futurscope, France 6, 7 and 8 June 2007. The event entailed two days of high level networking where companies had already selected and confirmed their meetings on-line prior to the event. It was attended by up to 1,000 owner/managers from SMEs from all sectors from approximately 40 countries and 4 continents. The Futurallia Co-ordinator for the Cork team was Meabh Ring, Marketing & Resource Development, who did an excellent job in making sure that the event was a success for everyone.
